“Photo Logos” are logos which have incorporated a photo or any other continuous tone image into them. “Photo Logos” are rarely used and not recommended on a normal basis due to their limitations. This type of logo works fine for a one-time use or for a specific size on paper or even for use on the web, but it is important to remember that “Photo Logos” cannot be used for silk screening or any other application where vector images are required. They are also difficult to use when drastically enlarged due to loss of resolution. For this reason we highly recommend creation of a secondary vector version of your logo should you require this type of logo. Although Sharkey Graphic Solutions is more than happy to create a “Photo Logo” for you if that’s what you are in need of, we will discuss how you plan to use this logo before doing so and warn you of its limitations.
