Inventory VS. Staying Lean –
“I HAVE A SMALL BUSINESS & IN AN EFFORT TO CONTROL MY OPERATING COSTS I KEEP AS LITTLE INVENTORY AS I CAN ON HAND OF EVERYTHING”
This has become a common thought process with any sized business, but keeping low inventories doesn’t necessarily mean you will be saving money.
The Tip
Maybe this works for some items, but when it comes to printing, the savings by ordering larger quantities far out weighs the immediate savings of lower inventories.
As just one small example: We sell 1 box of 250 business cards for $55.00 but we sell a box of 1000 cards for $95.00. That’s 4 times the cards for less than 2 times the price. And if orders are grouped together for several people at once the price will continue to drop and at a substantial rate.
So no matter what you print or who you print with, be sure to ask the cost of ordering twice what you need and you can be the office hero for getting twice the amount for pennies more.
